MUSICIANS IN SECOND LIFE PART 4

This is my 4th installment of talks about musicians. the next time I blog after this will be about venues to go check out.

VERONICA WEKSLER

Veronica Weksler (V, to her friends in SL) has been playing piano and singing since she was three years old. Her songlist includes gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, and a smattering of rock and ballads. Born into a musically gifted family, she would inherit the talent plus an excellent ear for music. Her parents both sang for Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and other Big Band greats. V has a truly unique voice; once you hear it you will never forget it, and when she is done, she leaves you wanting more of it. Do NOT miss the chance to hear her sing LIVE!!

RENO SEGALL
As a lead singer and musician he has played in bands from Maryland to California; The instruments he can play are drums, bass, and guitar. On second life he sings to backtracks , some of which he has created myself and with the help of friends. He doesn't just sing he is an entertainer as you can see in his performances. He has been in the RL music scene for over 20 years and on SL for over 2 years. He enjoys doing weddings, birthday parties, rez day parties and any day that celebrates life. He will make your event special and personalized just for you. His most important goal is to ensure you have a great time and in doing so he has fun. He just loves to sing.

BONO FOUROUX

Bono Fouroux is an incredible guitarist and composer, who captivates his audience with his insanely talented guitar work. He performs beautiful covers as well as knock-out originals. He often is one part of duets, although his solo work is absolutely awesome. His performances, whether solo or as part of a duet always delight the guitar lover! His talent is incredible and his stage presence a true joy. Bono delivers an incredible show with each of his performances.

AVANTGARDE FREQUENCY

Avant is a musician, singer, composer, and producer from Indianapolis, IN, USA who brings an evolving, eclectic and compelling musical journey and you're invited to come along for the ride. He creates all his own arrangements, playing all instruments himself (guitar, bass, keys, drums and percussion) and performs from his home recording studio utilizing state of the art gear to create a sonic playground that massages your ears, tickles your toes and tugs at your heart!

RICKYLIVEMUSIC

He has been singing on second life as "Ricky A'live" since July 2012 . Now with a brand new start he is back as Rickylivemusic. He has been a professional singer since the age of 14 in real life.From pop to jazz to blues to classical, he combines guitar,keyboard but mostly back tracks

HARMONIA TREFOIL

Harmonia brings 4 years of singing experience to the stage here in SL and decades of real life talent. Her style is an eclectic mix of country, pop, jazz, R and B and show tunes spanning 8 decades. She focuses on romance and friendship with spotlight dances and fun with her music and theme song or trivia challenges

HOGAN BAILEY

Hogan has been singing and performing since before the age of 14. His passion continued to grow as well as his experience. Hogan's vocals will be impressive to all. He brings to SL many years of RL experience and a very long song list, of much variety to choose from.
Hogan is quoted , "I truly enjoy performing. If I can make something smile thru my talent, there is no greater joy. Once I take the stage, I hold nothing back."

BILL473

He is a simple man that loves to sing. There is not much to say other than he is here to sing and meet good friends. He sings country music(old and new, mostly old favorites). He would love to see you at one of his shows

NEOMAXIMUS BRANDENBURG

Neo has regularly sung at RL open-mic performances. Neo's style is rock centered with influences from the Dave Matthews Band to Simon and Garfunkel. From Rage against the Machine to Carmen. Neo considers his musical tastes melodic and eclectic.

JOAQUIN GUSTAV

Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Joaquin is a guitarist, composer who has gained national popularity with his gifted guitar playing and agile musical imagination.
Joaquin performs a wide range playlist which includes smooth jazz, rock, tango, milonga, candombe and much more.

TOM 2.0

Tom 2.0 is a newcomer to the world of music here in Second Life. He performs a wide mix of songs, ranging from the oldies of the 50's and 60's (like Elvis and the Beatles) up through the modern pop music of today (Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Matchbox Twenty to name a few). Country music, 80's hair bands, folk songs, and even some original tunes are usually on the menu as well for this gracious guitar guy.

JAMES CORACHEA

Hailing from the UK, James plays instrumental guitar using a variety of weird and wonderful techniques that go far beyond the fingerpicking capabilities associated with traditional folk. Influences include Andy McKee, Tommy Emmanuel and Michael Hedges. His genre can't really be pinpointed but it best fits into the acoustic folk category. James's aim will one day be to create a series of guitar playing animations that better reflect his unconventional style of playing!

GWEEB

Gweeb performs live; guitar, dobro, mandolin and voice, drawing a repertoire from rock, blues, folk and pop songbooks, with an energetic, comedic delivery that is unlike anything else in SL.

SAMM QENDRA

Her singing comes from the heart, and touches each heart with songs that seem to connect to almost everyone. She tries to make her audience understand every word and emotion through her powerful yet haunting voice. You need to experience this awesome artist, and see why she is absolutely the best...

GINA GRACEMONT

Gina has loved to sing and perform in RL and online for many years. She has a smooth bluesy style that lends itself well to many genres of music! Listen to Gina move from Jazz to Blues, from modern romantic to R and B and Rock with that patented Gracemount grace and style!

BILL1495 TIGERPAW

Bill been singing and playing guitar since he was a teenager. Some of his idols include Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran. They all had a huge influence on him while he was growing up in England. In fact, Buddy Holly influenced him to pick up his first guitar. Bill loves all music styles from country to Guns N Roses to Lady GaGa. His songs revolve around the sounds of Elvis, Neil Diamond, Oasis, and the Beatles. Rather the Classics or the new stuff, Bill loves to sing it all.

MRMULTI WRITER

Mic is a multi-talented artist. His voice is versatile, expressive, and on-key. He plays amazing guitar and wonderful keyboards. He sings and plays from the heart. He is becoming well known for his originals and has over two hours of original songs ready to play. He is rapidly developing one of the largest repertoires in SL, with well over three hours of cover songs. He has self- created sequenced backing tracks with harmonies for both originals and cover tunes, but also just as many acoustic - guitar or keyboard only with voice. Add to his other talents his engaging personality and sense of humor and you get a heck of a good show. He is truly.. Mr Multi.

MAXIMILLION KLEENE

If music feeds the soul, Maximillion Kleene is the food of the gods. His dynamic musical range and smooth groove provide many a listener with a virtual buffet of auditory temptations. Max started his music career with formal study of piano at the Royal Conservatory but quickly realized that it was the guitar guys who got the chicks. By 19, he was seriously immersed to the very center of his musical soul in AC/DC and from there branched out to experiment with sounds that range from Pearl Jam to Foo Fighters to Jason Mraz. Max brings high energy and a vast repertoire of quirky, classic, and current covers to Second Life. Oozing charisma and charm, he provides his fans with an hour of musical magic.

MADMAX HUET

Madmax (known to his friends as Max) plays electric blues guitar and blues harp with some blues jazz thrown in. He plays the blues like nobody can and is amongst one of the best blues harp players in SL. He has been playing the blues since he was 12 years old and has had a Blues Club in RL in London. He plays his own originals, not covers and uses backing tracks for his performances. Max delivers an incredible show with each of his performances. He has a smooth easy style that makes fans of first time listeners.

CHILLEE HERNANDEZ

Her roots are blues....but she likes to sing a variety of music from all genres ...she sings with the stylings of Alicia Keyes, Adele, Diana Krall, Joss Stone, Etta James , Miranda Lambert, and even gender bender to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dave Mathews, Bill Withers, Maroon 5, Al Wilson and even kick it up a further notch with some Led Zepplin, Red Hot Chili Peppers And Nazareth just to name a few !! She sings songs from the past and songs from now...

KOKO INCOGNITO

KoKo Incognito started singing to Elvis' Blue Christmas while playing a hearth broom as her guitar at age 5. Since then, no song has been out of her reach. Whether classic country, rock, ballads or oldies, KoKo masters them with dulcet tones that have been developed through decades of performance as a soloist, choir member and traveling singer.

A child of the 60s, KoKo was raised on classic country, but much prefers rock music and the powerful ballads of the era's strongest female singers.

A natural born singer KoKo is bringing her talents to SL where she does sets mixing up the music with rock, country, ballroom and oldies.

Her magnificent vocals have already drawn the attention of multiple venues where she is booked almost every night of the week. Come see why everyone is raving about her beautiful singing.

JOE PARAVANE

Joe has that great finger-picking style mixed with folk rock undertones that will make you want more. With influences of Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band, Mississippi John Hurt, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Elizabeth Cotten, Bob Dylan, the Beatles and more, you won't have to be looking...you just have to be there when he plays in Second Life

MORE MUSICIANS TO CHECK OUT IN SECOND LIFE

I started writing about different musicians who play in Second Life. The first installment was done on March 5th. This is my second installment of some awesome musicians in sl that need to be checked out

HAZIE MOONWALL

Hazie is mostly a rocker and spans from new rock to classic rock and even covers hair band rock. He does Original music from his RL band. An occasional acoustic and piano song played by his RL guitarist from his band. And a few backing track songs. He has been known to throw in a country song or 2 and even a few pop songs. An eclectic variety!!

RUSSELL EPONYM

Russell brings us more of his exceptionally enjoyable music, a growing collection of historical folk tales set to music and his own lovely compositions. Lyrically beautiful and musically rich, the Russell Eponym sound invites the listener in. Sweet melodies and toe-tapping tunes showcase his unique finger-picking guitar style, his velvety voice, and his talents with the harmonica, banjo and even the kazoo! From dreamy love ballads to songs that will tickle your funnybone, Russell has them all.

ROCK DOGHOUSE

Rock has the sounds of a one-of-a-kind pro performer. He has written songs for and performed with some of the biggest names and countless less known musicians and artists while touring for years before performing SL shows. With a style that is both at once familiar and embracing yet unique and distinctively his own his songs will draw you in and take you on a journey that seems too short when it ends and leaves you waiting for more! Rock delivers an incredible show with each of his performances. He has a smooth easy style that makes fans of first time listeners.

MAMAA SAIZ

Yes, he's irreverent; and he's witty. But he's also a smooth-as-silk guitarist. He sings in a voice all his own. He's been charging his way through top Second Life music venues, lighting audiences on fire with his amazing musical variety: from smoky ballads to jazz classics; maybe a little country and western with a tear jerker and a dash of comedy for seasoning.

His acoustic guitar skills are first rate and he sings and plays 100% live with no backing tracks. He has been influenced by many musicians including Carlos Jobim, Glenn Frye, James Taylor, and more.

MARK SEERY

Mark is an accomplished acoustic and electric guitarist/ keyboard player whose voice is no stranger to a mic. He produces his own backing tracks. Over time in SL, he has transitioned many styles including blues, classic rock, Celtic rock, folk, ballads and even the occasional solo acoustic or classical guitar piece. Mark's shows are a laced with a slice of Irish banter, blarney and humor. Mark delivers an incredible show with each of his performances. He has a smooth easy style that makes fans of first time listeners

RHIA YUHARA

Rhia is a professional singer in Second life with many years of experience in RL. A superb vocalist in the genres of classic rock, contemporary pop and Jazz.

GINA STELLA

Gina has been playing acoustic guitar her whole life. Simply put, she loves writing music and showcasing her new songs on stages all over Second life! Many descriptions have been given of her music such as she has an edge like Melissa Etheridge and an ethereal voice like Jewel. While this is true, Gina's angelic voice is Gina - uniquely her own.

CAPOS CALDERWOOD

Capos is fast becoming one of the most sought after singer/songwriters in Second Life. His set list that is always fresh. Mostly the songs are original works and range from his up tempo humorous look at life to heartfelt ballads. Capos will wow you with his flawless finger-style guitar playing and his passionate voice.

DIMI AKA DIMIVAN LUDWIG

Talented long time veteran of secondlife. Dimi (aka Chris Harlow) has been playing music for many years. Wide variety of songs from Don Henley, John Prine, Rodney Carrington, Edwin McCain, Neil Young and so many more. Dimi never disappoints always a great show.

KEVINMTHOMAS CARPOOL

Kevin comes to SL live from Washington, D.C. His performances in Second Life are acoustic and electric along the lines of 80's rock. His voice has been likened to Steve Perry of Journey. His original music is deep and emotional. Outside of SL, Kevin has written Classical Compositions in his Chamber Music Collection and his Piano Collection. In RL, Kevin's day job has him doing investigative work which lends to his amazing insight into Corporate America and of course lends a hand to his lyrical genius. Kevin's music has been used on MTV and several overseas television and radio shows. You need experience Kevin first hand live in Second Life.

GANDALF MORNINGTON

Gandalf Mornington plays acoustic guitar and sings. He is picking this back up after a RL induced hiatus. He is a self taught guitar player and played for about 12 years before RL took him away from that (many more than 12 years ago).

Changes in RL caused Gandalf to decide to pick-up the guitar again in December 2008. With the help of the Wunderlads he did a few open mics to get his wings for playing on stage. He is now playing shows at various venues and is always getting better.

JUSTME CARLUCCI

Justme bridges a variety of genre's, covers include John Prine, Neil Young, Harry Chapin, Billy Joel, Styx, Eagles, Cat Stevens, Merle Haggard, Garth Brooks, Keb Mo and more. Throw in a few originals and you have a mix that has something for everyone. All live, All Acoustic, All Justme

MRMIKEIE STRING

Mr. Mikie loves to sing, especially to sing live! He started as a young child, singing whenever he got a chance. He played guitar and sang vocals in a band during his teenage years and has now brought his amazing vocal ability to Second Life. He sings a variety of genres; Oldies, Standards, Classic Rock, Love Songs and Country, both Classic and Modern. Nearly everything except rap.

CRYSTAL GARDENS ESTATES HOSTS 2 VENUES, WHIKSEY GO ROUND AND CRYSTAL GARDENS

Whiskey Go Round, the longest running Open Mic Venue, next to Crystal Gardens on Crystal Gardens Estates in Second Life. Musicians come every Saturday to sing 3 songs per round and then pass the mic to the next person. This weekly event is on Saturday night at 8pm slt. It is a good way for musicians to try new music or new musicians to get a start. Grateful Stryker is available to help people with streams if it is needed. If you want on the list each Saturday just send a notecard or IM to Grateful Stryker. Whiskey Go Round averages about 70+ each week. The rounds can go all night long so long as there are musicians and people to listen to all there fave musicians.
Crystal Gardens is another venue on Crystal Gardens Estates. It hosts shows for Joe Paravane, Dimi, Tom2.0, FrankLee Anatra many more. Check with Sandy Benelli for the times and days for the various musicians

MUSICIANS N VENUES TO CHECK OUT

Hi folks this is the first of many blogs on musicians and venues that I said I would write about. I will have more blogs about musicians and venues as often as I can. Enjoy the music and check out the musicians and venues in their calendars to the left.

BEAMER LOWTIDE ALWAYS LIVE

Beamer has been performing LIVE in S L for 3 years and mixes up his shows with acoustic guitar/vocals,as well as backing tracks for the electric tunes. He does assorted covers and originals with a voice that sings directly to your heart. His love for the audience is obvious as he draws you in with his sweet southern accent. Some of his cover songs include Pink Floyd, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Beatles, Allman Brothers and Eric Clapton. He only performs a few times each month, so here's your chance to get aquainted with this awesome performer.

STRUMMER VULTEE
Strummer Vultee is in Alabama, an awesome RL/SL musician. He plays keyboard, guitar, and his harmonica will blow you away ! His voice is very powerful and moving. Although he can play a wide variety of music, he really brings it home when he plays the blues! Blues, country, pop or rock--the Beatles, Dylan,-Really wonderful!!

More than one avatar has said his song gave them hope--stilled their soul.

Strummer first started performing at the age of 13 when he went to hear a group of musicians practice. The drummer did not show up but his drums were there. Strummer was asked to sit in and try to keep the beat. By the end of the night, he was given the job! His first real paying gig was in a bar at the age of 15 and he has been playing ever since. He taught himself guitar and the rest is history! Strummer is a California/Oklahoma country boy, but cites as music that has influenced him, the Beatles, the Animals, the Stones, The Cream and Jimmy Hendrix!!

He has some really awesome originals-- he is master of the harmonica--plays some really nice guitar--but it is his vocals that he is known for. A God given instrument that may really rock you soul.


MAXX SABRETOOTH
Maxx came to SL in 2009 and began singing in late April 2009 and is becoming one of the most desired performers in SL.

Maxx's career in music began in Oklahoma at the age of 8 when he picked up his first trumpet. He has played in a variety of hometown Jazz/Dance Bands through the years and has performed in a wide variety of RL venues, as well as doing solo performances. Maxx began singing while helping another band member learn a song. Twelve years ago, Maxx turned strictly vocalist. He hasn't stopped since! You can hear and feel Maxx's love of music in every note he sings. Maxx came to SL in February, 2009, began singing in late April 2009 and has quickly become one of the most desired performers in SL.

Maxx Sabretooth sings a variety of styles specializing in R&B, Soul, Country, Pop, Lite Rock, Jazz, Motown as well as Contemporary Country. Maxx will bring you familiar songs in his own bluezy voice and will leave you wanting more!

LIGHTNIN LOWTIDE
Lightnin has done hundreds of shows in RL as well as
hundreds of shows in SL he is seasoned performer

STEVEEOLIO
Raised and presently from Portage, Indiana, Steve comes fresh to SL from RL bringing with him many, many years of musical experience.

He is a RL musician that had an interest in music since the age of 12. In 1972, he then became an active musician in an inner circle of friends that shared the same passion of music. Played for two decades with only the ear and talent of my gift. Then, thanks to a good friend, Jim Cooper, who stopped and shared the importance of reading music, he then learned. There was no stopping him as he then, learned every jazz and blues music along with many popular covers. Then learned one new song a day for the next three years.Enjoy working music from many greats such as, Gershwin, Cole Porter, Thelonius Monk, John Coltrane. Great guitar influences by Pat Martino, Pat Metheny, Wes Montgomery along with many other greats.

A must hear musician here for you today! Come share his gifts of music and feel his heart as he shares the best with you!


QUINTON WHITMAN
Q's performances stimulate your senses, awaken your mind, and enrich your soul...his deep melodious voice and awesome guitar (acoustic & electric) playing combine as he performs a mixture of music genres from rock, to ballads, to traditional folk songs. The variety in his shows is a given including many of his originals, and covers including Donovan, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Jerry Jeff Walker, Talking Heads, Cat Stevens, Lowell George, Utah Phillips, John Prine, Moody Blues, Lefty Frizzell, Waterboys, Led Zeppelin & more

KEVINMTHOMAS CARPOOL
Kevin rezzed into his Second Life music career on October 18, 2007 as an acoustic rock artist. In real life Kevin’s accolades include being a solo acoustic artist, a chamber music composer, a pianist, work with the band Nixon Nation, work with the band Wired Shut, being signed to a major indie label for his acoustic solo work, having music featured on MTV’s Tripped Out and 10 Things Every Guy Should Experience, having his music part of a regular British television series known as Distant Shores, having his music features in the Brazilian made for television movie Studio 54. Kevin’s works are registered with ASCAP

KevinMThomas Carpool takes the stage and wakes the audience up. His high energy and vocal range thrill and delight his listeners. Kevin’s shows consist of acoustic original music, electric original music, and covers by request. His vocals are amazingly akin to 80’s metal bands and can even be compared to Steve Perry from Journey. Kevin’s major musical influences stem from Sting, Bruce Dickinson and Steve Perry. Although guitar is his regular instrument in SL he can be caught with his drum machine and bass from time to time.

WHISKEY GO ROUND

Whiskey Go Round has been in so for 6yrs now. It is the longest running open mic venue. Open only on Saturday night starting at 8pm, the format is 3 songs then pass the mic to the next musician. Great place to try new music or start ur sl music career out. They usually have about 80 people during a night going in and out of the doors. All are welcome. Come check out the redesigning of the sim and the new Club 7-10. Grateful Stryker is the person to contact if you would love to be on the list for Saturday nights. Bring old friends, meet new ones, dance & have fun with great music & musicians. If ur a Greatful Dead fan, then u will love the venue stream they play when no events.
